鹿児島県本土から南におよそ60km、屋久島の南西部にある小さな集落「栗生（くりお）」にひっそりと佇むベーカリー「くりおのくらし」。作っているのは、結婚を機に栗生に暮らし始めた3人の女性です。
きれいな栗生川、深くて青い海、九州一高い山の大自然に五感を刺激され、磨き上げられた感性で、香りにこだわったパンとお菓子を、丁寧に焼き上げています。遠くから通ってくださるファンも多いです。
川沿いに座ると、聞こえてくるのは、川のせせらぎ、野鳥の鳴き声、遠くの波の音、木々が風に揺れる音。
見える景色は、青空と、深く連なる山々の緑のグラデーション。
新月の夜には天の川と、星座がわからないほどの満点の星空をみることができます。

About 60 km south of mainland Kagoshima, nestled in the small village of Kurio on the southwest coast of Yakushima, you’ll find a quiet little bakery—Kurio no kurasi.
This bakery is run by three women who moved to Kurio after getting married. Inspired by the crystal-clear Kurio River, the deep blue sea, and the towering mountains of Kyushu’s highest peak, they bake bread and sweets with a special focus on fragrance, using their refined senses nurtured by this rich natural environment. Many devoted fans travel from afar just to enjoy their creations.
When you sit by the river, all you hear is the gentle murmur of the water, the songs of wild birds, the distant sound of waves, and the rustling of trees in the wind.
Before your eyes, the sky stretches wide, while layers of green mountains create a breathtaking gradient. On a new moon night, the Milky Way unfolds above, with countless stars filling the sky—so many that you might lose track of the constellations.
